In Downtown Louisville, within the Boulder District, is a beautiful new venue called The Simon. The space is perfect for indoor ceremonies. It is a total of three levels, the first being a speakeasy-style bar in the basement. This is where our Groom and Groomsmen hung out. The third floor holds the white-walled ceremony space, with chandeliers lining the aisle above. The Bride's getting ready room is also located on this floor. This room is filled with natural lighting (the whole venue is really well lit through all of it's windows), and there is a row of mirrors as well as a floor length mirror, perfect for the Bride and Bridesmaids. The groom has access to an elevator which brings him up to the wedding aisle. The bride's getting ready room exits into the hall, just before the aisle. Our ceremony was beautifully decorated by the talented Alex George of Dahlia Events and Designs, and Lace and Lilies flower boutique.
The couple had their first look on the balcony outside of the ceremony space. In the background is a vintage Cola painting, which adds to some of the unique flair of this venue. Along the street are shops, pubs, and restaurants, beautifully decorated for the holidays. Even the street lights had garland on them, and we made sure to take photos at sundown, up and down the street.
My favorite part of the venue was the reception space, located on the second floor (ground level). The high ceilings, chandeliers, and brushed white brick of the walls was really stunning, contrasted with the glowing twinkle lights on the Douglas Fir trees the couple lined the space with. If you are looking for winter inspiration for your wedding, look no further. This wedding captured all the magic of the season and then some.
